With 2 million acres of public forest, 29 state parks, eight state forests, 50 state game lands and the 500,000-acre Allegheny National Forest, there are many different types of trees to be found throughout the Pennsylvania Wilds -- one of the biggest blocks of green between New York City and Chicago.
Oak leaves and acorns can therefore be expected to be found on many of the forest floors throughout the PA Wilds, especially in the fall. Representing these symbols of nature found throughout The Wilds, these handmade Oak Leaf and Acorn Coffee Mugs are wheel thrown and hand-decorated with individually molded oak leaves and acorns in various patterns. No two will be exactly alike.
Hughes Pottery is entirely handmade in Pennsylvania from stoneware clay and porcelain. All the glazes are lead-free and food safe.
Lead-free and food safe. Microwave and dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is recommended to prolong the life of the piece.
Meet the Maker
Hughes Pottery is a husband and wife team of artists who create functional stoneware pottery for your kitchen and table. Each piece is handmade one at a time on their wheels - no molds or forms are ever used. Everything you see here was produced in their small home studio in Northwestern Pennsylvania from food safe, microwave safe, and non-toxic materials. They do not make the kind of art you put behind the glass and never touch!
The Hughes Pottery studio is located in Cook Forest and the Ancients; learn more about this inspiring landscape now.
