Built in 1882, the Kinzua Viaduct was forged as an alternate route to transport coal, oil, and timber. Eventually, the Kinzua Viaduct (Kinzua Bridge) became a popular passageway for excursion trains. These trips brought thousands of visitors who wished to see this railroad masterpiece up close. Even after tragedy struck in 2003, the spirit of the Kinzua Viaduct lived on, and it opened the door for a beautiful skywalk that people travel from all over the world to traverse. This train set is a wonderful way to show the vibrant history of the bridge and train transportation.
The 5 Car Classic Train set comes with an assortment of track and train pieces. The track is cut from locally harvested hardwood maple with laser engraved track "ties." One train piece has been customized with the initials "K.B.R.R." for Kinzua Bridge Rail Road. The track is compatible with other standard track sets.
