Throughout locomotive history, train engineers have always used train whistles, part of the actual train, to both signal train stations of their approachment and to communicate with other railroad workers. The effectiveness of these whistles was based on their high velocity squeals that would let people know that trains were thundering down the tracks. Now, both kids and adults can own their very own train whistle! Made by Maple Landmark Toy Company, these whistles are made from both pine and birch, and engraved in the PA Wilds with "Kinzua Bridge State Park." When people blow into the top, the whistle emits a similar sound to that of an actual train engine! Note: For ages 5 and up.

Uses four-tone whistle. 8-1/2" long, made from pine. Engraved on one side.

Made by Maple Landmark, who has been making eco-friendly and educational wooden toys, games, and gifts in Middlebury, Vermont, for about 40 years, using responsible and sustainable practices to create safe products.

Engraved by Elkwood Arts, which is a licensed vocational facility located in Elk County, PA, providing sheltered employment and training to disabled adults. They are a program of Dickinson Center, Inc. and their mission is to search for ways to meet the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities who are unable to obtain employment and show an interest in woodworking.
